The next section will give you detailed pointers. Let's dive in with us!

Step 1. Go To Your Draft Video

First, open the TikTok app on the mobile device. Next, go to your draft video saved on the TikTok app. Still have not recorded one? Do so immediately! There is a "Drafts" button. Tap on that button to move the video to your draft.

And how can you find this draft? You will see a "Me" icon from the navigation bar's bottom. Click that icon to go to the profile. Here is where all your videos lie. And there will be a "Drafts" rectangle that stores your draft. To see the draft, tap this rectangle.

And that concludes our first step. Go to the second one to learn how to save your drafts.

Step 2. Press The Draft to Make Edits

Tap the drafts, and a list of drafts will appear. The TikTok app will sort them from the most-recently-edited to the oldest. Suppose there is a draft you have just edited. Then this draft will stay on the top of your page.

So how can we continue editing this draft? Hit the video's caption. (And what if there is no caption? Then the "Add a caption" option will be there). Then tap the video to make edits.

The "Select" option is also at the navigation bar's top. Avoid hitting it by accident! Because if you do so, the video will get deleted.

And that's how our Step 2 goes. Turn to the last step to seal the deal!

Step 3. Privatize The Video and Activate "Save to Devices"

Are you on the edit screen now? Then there will be boxes to insert the video's captions. Other options will appear underneath that as well.

Sadly, TikTok does not yet allow its users to save drafts directly to galleries. Thus, to do so, you need to post the draft first. Still, remember that if the video is public, everyone can see it. To avoid that, change the settings from "public" to "private".

First, tap "Who may watch this video". After that, three options will present themselves. ("Everyone", "Private", and "Friends).

Their names are quite self-explanatory. "Everyone" means everybody can see the video. "Friends" only permits your friends and followers. (who you have followed back). Meanwhile, "Private" allows you only. And the latter is what you should choose! Hit "Private" to privatize the video. Next, tap the "X" button.

To save this video to photo galleries, enable "Save to device". That function lets TikToatk save videos to your phone after publishing. If you do not enable it, no automatic save can happen. You will have to download it by hand.

Last but not least, hit "Post" to post this private video. The moment you post it, your phone will save it immediately! And again, you can be confident that no one can see this video. (except you).

FAQs

1. Where Do My TikTok Drafts Go?

Where do the drafts go? - Source: Pixabay.

They are at the left corner of the TikTok video collections. All your current drafts will lie within this folder. To edit it, tap one draft to open.

It is possible to edit or add music, write captions and texts, and add effects. Other editing tools are also abundant!

2. I Cannot See My TikTok Draft. Why?

Maybe it's because you only store the draft on one gadget. Thus, it will be unavailable on other devices. (even when you sign in using similar accounts). Hence, we suggest you finish the edits and post them using the same device as the original videos.

3. Does TikTok Remove Drafts?

No, they will forever stay in your folder. But the moment you post these videos, they are no longer drafts.

Similarly, the downloaded drafts will lie on your smartphone forever. They will only disappear if you choose to delete them by hand.

Fianl thought

TikTok does not allow you to save drafts directly to your phone. But this article has shown you how to save a TikTok draft to camera roll! (though the method is a bit roundabout). Do not forget to privatize your video before posting. Otherwise, everyone can see it, which you do not want to happen! After all, there are reasons they are 'drafts' instead of finished products.

The process is simple, so we expect no trouble. Still, if you struggle in certain aspects, let us know. You may contact us directly via direct messages. Or post your questions in the comment section and let other readers help!
