How to Clear Recents on Snapchat

You may not want someone to appear on your Snapchat recent list at all times.

Your recents are the people you've snapped most recently, and they can stay on your list for a long time if you don't snap many people.

Don't worry if you want to fully forget about someone or simply keep them off your recents list. It's simple to take them out, and they'll stay hidden until one of you snaps at the other (in which case, you could just repeat the process.)

I'll show you how to clear your recents on Snapchat in this article. You can also use this method to avoid having to block someone on Snapchat.

How to Clear Snapchat Recents?

If you need to clean your Snapchat history frequently, the entire process is fairly simple and can be simply memorized.

The following are step-by-step instructions that work with iPhones, Android phones, iPads, and other tablets:

Open the Snapchat app and go to your page by clicking the Bitmoji button in the top-left corner.

To access your settings, click the gear icon in the top-right corner.
Scroll down until you find the Clear Conversations option, then press it. This will bring up a list of recent contacts for you.

From here, click the X on the right-hand side of your screen to delete Snapchat friends from your recents list.
Finally, a confirmation window will appear, asking if you wish to clear the chat. The contact will be removed from your recents list and your Snap history will be removed once you click the Clear option. As the window states, this will not delete any saved messages; instead, it will clear the convos from your home screen when you start the Snapchat program.

That’s it! This is one method for quickly removing a large number of people from your recents list.

However, if you simply want to delete one individual, there is a faster method that I'll show you right now.

How to Remove One Individual from Your Recents List?

If you only have one person to delete, this method may be faster. This is a fantastic technique to hide someone without blocking them!

Open Snapchat and navigate to your profile page. Find the contact you wish to delete and press and hold their name for a few seconds to bring up the box shown above. Then select View Profile.
On their profile page, hover your mouse over the three dots in the upper-right corner. Although the person you’re trying to remove from your recents isn't someone you've added as a friend in this case, the method is the same.
This will display a box similar to the one seen above. Click the Clear Conversation button, then on the confirmation that appears, click Clear. This will remove this person from your Recents list and remove them entirely from your home page until you snap or message each other again.
